About our project

Orbital wheel  (Wubless wheel) is looks like a large diameter bearing with a tire. The simple car idea with orbital wheels is like cabin between two of these  wheels.

Over the years, there have been attempts to create bicycles, motorcycles and cars on orbital wheels. In the Internet you can find a lot of interesting information about similar projects. Attempts to create vehicles based on orbital wheels continue up to current day. The main problem faced by the developers is the complexity of manufacturing this type of  wheel compared to a conventional wheel. When developing such a wheel, problems arise with the isolation of the internal mechanism of the wheel from external factors, such as dust, water and dirt. Also, an orbital wheel, due to its design features, creates additional mechanical noise. Now there are many interesting composite materials that allow us to approach  projects in a new way.  Interesting and unusual designs of bicycles and motorcycles  with composite materials appear on orbital wheels. 

I’m also interested in this topic. Somehow I wondered if it is possible to implement the idea of ​​orbital wheels in a way as to minimize its weaknesses. How do I solve the problem with the tightness of the wheel, reduce its noise characteristics, and is it even possible to build an electric motor into the wheel itself? When looking at numerous projects on the Internet, I had a desire to realize this project of an electric car on two orbital wheels. But it became interesting to me not just to build such a car, but to try eliminate as many orbital wheel problems as possible, like poor airtightness from the environment  and minimizing the noise from the wheel.  I also thought about how an electric motor could be built into an orbital wheel. It is clear that if I fail to isolate the orbital motor wheel well, then road dust, debris, and moisture can penetrate into the wheel. Asume there are permanent magnets in the electric motor, then over time, magnetic dust will adhere to them.  It is necessary to solve this problem as well.  Step by step different solutions matured, which seemed to me to be possible to implement. Another interesting problem that needs to be solved is the stability of the car on its two orbital wheels from turning over around its axis. It is clear that we need to use a gyroscope.  But decisions are one thing in the head, another is in the drawings, but most importantly, how will it look real in the project?  After some deliberation, it was decided to assemble a reduced working model of an orbital motor wheel, and then from two such wheels to assemble a working model of a car. If everything goes well, then it will be possible to start building a full-size electric car on two orbital wheels. I met several people who are interested in this project. Now there are four of us in the team!

Well, for the future, if we develop this project further, we would like to create a construction kit to assemble the car with their own hands. Imagine you ordering this kit, where the kit already contains two ready-made orbital wheels with built-in electric motors, a cabin plus all the electronic filling and batteries.   All you need to do is to connect them according to the instructions. The kit can come with different options for the interior of the cab, different seat designs, and different capacities of electric batteries etc.

Hello everyone!   Now we are small team where  there are four of us  so far.  The project we are starting to create  an electric car on two orbital wheels. To begin with, we created this website, where we will  show step by step the progress of our project.

Our project will be implies several main stages of development:

Open a corporation to raise our project on the next level of development. Making a KIT for assembling these cars at home. Development of advanced models of these cars.
